It's my party...and I'll scream if I want to.

So, we got the Venue. The State Theater is a beautiful place, and from what I've heard so far very unique. Which is exactly what I wanted.

oh yea, we go the dress too. If you want to see it... well, you'll have to wait.

Tuesday was one of those days that I had to wonder if we were doing the right thing. Not the getting married part but the wedding part. Tuesday had me wondering why we even needed to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding that someday people might look back on a say 'eh, it was okay' and forget what it was even about. But I was dutifully reminded that the wedding wasn't only about the couple, no, contrary to what most brides believe, it's about the families that are joining the two people together. As much as I love the idea of popping some plane tickets to Vegas, and coming back married. No, I'll be patient. I'll wait until January and I'll weather whatever storm blows my way. Because what doesn't kill me makes me stronger right? Right, I'll just keep telling myself that.

Bridesmaids, forgive me for changing my mind again. What we'll be doing for the bridesmaid dresses is black and long, look for something that has class and elegance.  Here's some choices for you:

(1)(2): Savannah tried this one on. It was amazing!

Btw, if you girls buy from David's Bridal, the event number for us is:

Also, I don't want to limit you guys to just buying from David's Bridal. Since we're doing black and long, feel free to search else where for dresses.

I love these! (3). They are so cool! I would definitely recommend these if they are in the budget :)

Savannah shared this link with me to share with the rest of you, vender list of designers that have gorgeous, glamourous dresses for, so I hear, under $200.

What's next? Cake design. This is what I have so far:

Something that seems to mimic like a theater tower, the top of the base I want to cover with Calla Lilies. and at the top of the tower, do something very like spot lights.

Like this!
But of course, they won't be moving. If they were, Oh my gosh, that'd BE SICK! Maybe I can make that...

As for the invitations, I'll be starting those today. Need to get designing! I have a bunch of good ideas that shouldn't be too costly. Yay me.

Anyways, that's all for right now.

So, I'm starting to really like this idea.

I guess I'll start with this

Welcome to my new blog about my suddenly crazy life :) I'm getting married! But along with getting married is all the planning that goes along with it. Hopefully by being able to write everything out will help me get my head and brain straight so I can come up with some unique ideas and make Jake and I's wedding something that will always be remembered!

Tomorrow I'll be going down to the State Theater to check out my possibly future venue. How exciting! and how daunting. I know I can make it work, as it was Jake and I already sort of wanted to get married there when we were visiting when he took his Film Appreciation class at MJC.

I will have to drastically change some plans that I had already had in place in my mind for the last several years (because there is not a girl out there who didn't plan their wedding when they were little). But, that's what being flexible is about :) Being able to go with the flow and change your mind on a whim.

At first, I wanted my colors to be dark blue and a dark purple, but if we decide to go with the State, I'll be changing my mind. Again.

I have to admit, it's tough, forcing yourself to change an idea that you've been planning for a couple years. But you can't stuff an elephant in the fridge JUST because you want to, it just can't happen, so instead I'm going to leave the elephant alone and work with what I have.

So here's my list:

- Make a list of all the movie themed piano music I have in my library and arrange it so it can be played at some point
- Dance party? Get music!
- Research invitations; check in with the State Theater, see if they have any ideas.
- Research classic movies for ideas (fun! hah hah)
- Need pictures scanned for slide show of bride and groom!
- Cookie dough, duh
- Draw up different cake designs, deliver to Pam
- Movie themed concessions?

By tomorrow, I'll be able to seriously plan once I see what I'm dealing with. I think I'll take my camera and record some video, and take some pictures :)

Cats want me to go to bed, goodnight!
